Wharton Digital Press is proud to announce that Kenneth L. Shropshire’s Sport Matters: Leadership, Power, and the Quest for Respect in Sports has earned an Axiom Business Book Award, receiving a bronze medal in business ethics.

Published one year ago, Sport Matters has been covered on MSNBC, Marketplace, and in other leading publications and called “highly recommended” by the Miami Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross. According to Billie Jean King, former world #1 tennis champion and activist, in Sport Matters, “Shropshire shows how we can make deeper progress toward leveling the playing field.”

The award winners were chosen from a pool of more than 500 entries. Jerrold Jenkins, founder of the Jenkins Group, which organizes the awards, announced, “Business success demands that business leaders keep learning and growing. This year’s Axiom Award-winning books offer the freshest ideas from the world’s brightest minds.”

Sports Matters joins two other Wharton Digital Press Axiom Business Book Award winners from last year:

Authors Thompson (second from left below) and Brandenburg (fourth from left below) attended the award ceremony recognizing the winners in New York City on May 27, 2015, during the BookExpo America convention. For details on this year’s event, visit the Axiom Business Book Awards site.
